When Babysitting Turns Spooky

    A girl named Holly was called over to her neighbor's house to babysit their daughter, Kelsey, while they went out for the night. Holly hated to babysit Kelsey because she always played pranks on her to scare her. Fast-forward two hours before Holly is sitting on the couch with her phone while Kelsey is supposed to be in her room. Holly hears a loud “THUMP!” coming from upstairs, thinking that it's Kelsey. She yells at her to get in bed, but the sound continues, which makes Holly get up.

    Holly walks slowly up the stairs towards the loud noise, but suddenly it stops. She yells out to Kelsey, who comes out of the room with her arms crossed, telling her to stop yelling because she is trying to talk on the phone with her friend. “No, you are supposed to be in the bed, Missy!" Kelsey stared her up and down, turned around, and slammed her door. Holly let out a huge sigh and went back downstairs to find something to snack on. She saw the liquor cabinet and raided it for a little touch of wine. She didn't even get a sip in when she heard the loud “THUMP!” again. The noise sounded like it was coming from downstairs.

    The noise continued and got louder as Holly walked towards the sound. She was holding a baseball bat that she found near the front door. She called out to Kelsey to make sure that she wasn't playing a prank on her, but she didn't get an answer. When Holly made it down the stairs, she turned the lights on, and the noise stopped. She couldn't see anything but piles of boxes and a pipe that was dripping water. When she turned around, a huge black cat whooshed past her, letting out a huge “meow!” She screamed and ran back up the stairs, frightened as hell. Kelsey heard the scream and ran down to see what was going on. 

    Holly was standing there as if she had seen a ghost. Kelsey looked down and saw her cat Thumper rubbing against her legs. “Let me guess you hear loud, thumping sounds.” Holly nodded her head yes while she was standing there, pale as a ghost. “Yeah, it was Thumper and his tail. Holly looked down and saw a huge ball on his tail. Kelsey explained how she thought it was an overgrown tumor, but the veterinarians wouldn't do anything because they couldn't find anything harmful when they scanned his tail. "He was probably upstairs, and since you are always on your phone, he snuck past you downstairs and went into the basement.”

    Holly's smile turned into a laugh as she sat down on the couch to calm herself down. She went to the kitchen, drank the cup of wine, and shook her head. She was pranked by Thumper the cat.
